A coach watched a bullpen and made a judgment call — "that slider popped out" — and the pitcher adjusted based on a cue given or instinct. What Precision Looks Like
Rapsodo gives our coaches a full profile on every pitch: velocity, spin rate, spin efficiency, spin axis and tilt, horizontal and vertical break, release height, and extension. Instead of guessing whether a breaking ball "looks" good, we can see exactly how it's spinning and how that shape compares to what we're trying to build, or maintain.
Two pitches can look similar to the eye and play completely differently against a hitter. Precision means we design around what the data shows — not just what we see.
Building the Arsenal
Every pitch serves a purpose, and Rapsodo lets us design toward that purpose instead of discovering it by accident.
- Fastball — Spin efficiency and approach angle tell us how much perceived ride a fastball will show hitters.
- Breaking balls — Spin axis and tilt reveal whether a slider or curveball holds its shape or flattens out.
- Changeups — Velocity separation and spin mirroring against the fastball determine how well it disguises itself.
Rather than hoping a pitch "gets there" eventually, we identify exactly what needs to change — grip, wrist angle, release point — and confirm the adjustment worked on the next rep.
